Dr. Insung Jung

Dr. Insung Jung has a B.A. in Education from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University in USA.
Insung Jung is an
associate professor of the Dept. of Educational Technology at the
Ewha Womans University and serves as the director of the
Multimedia Education Center. Before joining the Ewha Womans
University, she was an associate professor of the Institute of
Distance Education at the Korea National Open University. For
over ten years, she has conducted research projects on the use of
new information technology in education, on instructional systems
design for distance learning and on educational policy
development in distance education and cyber education in
particular. Her current research interests include the
development and evaluation of virtual learning environment, the
design of computer network for online distance learning and the
application of instructional theories to the development of
learning materials.
Insung Jung has been a consultant to the Ministry of Education
and the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication for years
in the areas of technology
use in schools and distance education, and development of
educational policies and standards. She has als served as an
evaluator to assess school reform activities in Provincial
Offices of Education in Korea, and a reviewer to examine
establishment and proper use of computer network system in
schools.Between Dec. 1998 and April 1999, Insung Jung was an
anchorwoman for a broadcast TV program consisting of 20 series of
1 hour discussion on major university policy issues. She taught
two graduate courses on distance education and conducted research
at Penn State University as an adjunct visiting professor.
Insung Jung has worked as an international consultant for the
World Bank since 1999 and published a technical report on virtual
education in Korea. She is also currently involved in a project
on technology and teacher education initiated by the Education
and Technology Team of the World Bank.
