There are two types of files available for download from this site:
- Adobe Acrobat PDF files. These files can be viewed using the
Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 5 or higher, which is free for download from
http://www.adobe.com.
Generally, a PDF link on this site can be accessed in two different ways.
The most common way is to simply click the hyperlink, which will open the
PDF file in a new browser window, if Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed. If
Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed, clicking the hyperlink will cause the
browser to prompt you to save the file to a location you specify. You will
need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view the saved file. A
second way to access the PDF file is to right-click on the hyperlink and
choose the "Save Target As..." option (may also be called "Save Link Target
As...") to specify a location to save the PDF file. This second way
essentially allows you to download the PDF file for viewing later.
- Geometer Sketchpad files. These files can be viewed using the
Sketchpad software, available from
http://www.keypress.com/sketchpad/. This software comes in a number of
editions. Refer to the
How to Order
Sketchpad page for an edition that is suitable for your needs.
In order to minimize the download size of some of the files, some files are
compressed using the ZIP file format. Save a ZIP file to your disk and use a
decompression program such as WinZip, available from
http://www.winzip.com, or StuffIt
Expander, available from
http://www.aladdinsys.com/.
