JRRE is a rigorous, peer-reviewed, open-access electronic journal publishing original, interdisciplinary scholarly research relevant to the various contexts of rural education. In 2008, JRRE moved to Penn State´s Center on Rural Education and Communities under the editorship of Center Director, Kai A. Schafft.

2009 BUILDING COMMUNITIES AWARD PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

Each year the Center on Rural Education and Communities, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Association of Rural and Small Schools, issues an award to a Pennsylvania school or district recognizing innovative practices that improve education while building community. We include features on current and past recipients, highlighting models of best practice.
