BYSTANDERS TO SCHOOL VIOLENCE FEEL LONG-TERM EFFECTS SIMILAR TO THE VICTIM'S

Children and adult bystanders who witness repeated abuse inflicted on others may experience both a psychological and physiological stress level that, over time, can equal that of the victim, according to a Penn State researcher.

Almost a hundred years of federal assistance for high school career and technical education could abruptly end if a current federal proposal succeeds, a Penn State educator says.

Rehabilitation majors in college whose education includes service learning—experiential participation in an organized service activity—achieve learning outcomes that far exceed the outcomes in a classroom-based setting, according to a recently published article.

In encouraging low-income single mothers to earn a college education, federal and state governments, along with higher education institutions, will make a solid, long-term investment for the whole society, a Penn State researcher says.
