TOO MUCH HOMEWORK CAN BE COUNTERPRODUCTIVE

In an international study, two Penn State researchers have found that increases in homework may actually undercut teaching effectiveness and worsen disparities in student learning.

ADULT ADVISORS OF STUDENT GROUPS MUST LEARN WHEN TO STEP ASIDE

Participation in leadership organizations gives students a forum in which to have their say in schools, where power differential exists between students and the adults. Allowing students to lead is helpful to their development, suggests a Penn State researcher.
