In 2000, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Distance Education Teaching Award from Penn State. Also, in 1995, he won the NUCEA Award for Excellence in Research. Dr. Kuhne is the Director of the Institute for the Study of Ministry Dynamics. His primary research interest is Distance Education, particularly teaching/learning issues in On-line Education.  He also maintains a research focus in Continuing Higher Education, Continuing Professional Education, Adult Religious Education, and Action Research. He also authored eight books and was named to Who's Who in Education.
