Grant Berry '67 M.Ed. CN ED Retired in January 2001. Now a cachetmaker for US Postage stamp First Day Covers. Spending much time gardening and had he known it would be so much fun, he would have done it 60 years ago! Claire B. Clements '67 Ed.D. Art Ed; Associate Professor Emerita, University of Georgia, received the Women in the Arts Recognition Award from the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The award, from the American Heritage Committee, recognizes Claire's work in bringing the joy of creativity to individuals from infancy through old age in schools and communities. Joan Bickley Groff
'67 B.S. Art Ed; retired after 32 years in full- and part-time public and private elementary and secondary art education. It was a great career! Joan helped the Art Ed Department in November with the Career Tips Day for the College of A&A. She is still free-lancing with illustration and calligraphy and is hoping to find art-related travel. C. Jay Hertzog '68 B.S. MU ED, '72 M.Ed. EDADM, '80 D.Ed. EDADM Dean of Education at Slippery Rock University retired in 2009 after 10 years at Slippery Rock and 41 years of service in the education field. After serving as band director, middle school principal and district assistant superintendent, he entered higher education as a middle grades specialist at Valdosta State University (GA), moved to chair of Professional Studies at Augusta State University (GA) before starting as Dean at SRU. Ricki Krebs Hevner '66 B.S. EK ED a 4th-grade teacher at Alexander D. Goode Elementary in the York City School District, is retiring this month after more than 30 years in the classroom. Richard E. Ishler '60 M.Ed. EK ED, '65 D.Ed. EK ED retired as Dean of the College of Education at the University of South Carolina and was given the titles of Distinguished Dean Emeritus of Education and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Education. In 2007, he served as editor of the new book titled "Professional Development Schools: Enhancing Teacher Quality" that was published by Research for Better Schools, a regional educational laboratory in Philadelphia. Rosemary Matteson '60 B.A. SECED After teaching English, creative writing, and journalism for 31 years, Rosemary wrote a novel about the Lake Placid 1980 Olympic Games - "Nothing Gold Can Stay." She has also written and illustrated two children's books, "Tommy's Circlr of Friends" and "Tommy Meets Muffy from Manhattan", which includes 75 original watercolor illustrations. Frank R. Vicente '64 B.S. MU ED, '73 M.Ed. MU ED Retired in 2006 as a 35 year cable TV executive and concurrently as a Colonel in the USAF Reserve. He lives six months in State College and six months in Summerfield, FL. Former administrative assistant to Dean Abram Vandermeer in the Collge of Education while a graduate student in music education. Currently  a volunteer pianist at The Villages hospital in Lady Lake, FL and cantor at St. Mark's RC Church in Summerfield. Built a 1932 Ford Hiboy V-8 roadster and showcased it in central FL.
