Penn State offers many opportunities for professional development including certificates and degrees, Saturday seminars, online seminars or courses, on-campus summer and evening courses, and Web sites. Many of these courses are approved for Act 48 credit.

Professional Development Seminars and Conferences
Astrobiology for Educators
Explore the latest discoveries in the search for conditions needed to support life on other planets, and learn how to integrate this multidisciplinary topic into existing curricula while still meeting state science requirements.
This week-long teacher workshop is designed to provide teachers in grades 4-12 with science content related to the cutting-edge field of astrobiology.The workshop will run from July 22-26, 2013 at the Abington campus. The cost is only $300 for two graduate credits. Applications are on a first come, first served basis, with a limit of 22 teachers.
National Autism Conference

This conference provides comprehensive, evidence-based information to assist educators, providers, and families in developing effective educational and therapeutic programming for all students with autism spectrum disorders.
