BA, MS, PhD, Elementary and Kindergarten Education

Dr. Kristen Dewitt comes to State College and the Professional Development Schools Program from Western Michigan University, where she received a BA in Elementary Education, MS in Emotional Leadership, and PhD in Educational Leadership. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Middle Childhood Generalist. Her doctoral research focused on National Board Certification candidates in Michigan. She has presented at numerous state and national conferences on topics including National Board Certification, multiage education, technology integration, and team teaching. Most recently, Dr. Dewitt taught for 12 years at Cooper Elementary School, where, for the last 10 years, she team taught in 3rd-5th grade multiage classroom. She also provided technolgy training to educators and candidate support to NBPTS candidates in Michigan.
