Network Support

Install and maintain network infrastructure for approximately 850 connections in six buildings. We work in conjunction with the University Telecommunications and Networking Services. Provide web, database, file, print, backup, security, and anti-virus server administration.

Computer Support

We provide technical support, maintenance, and consultation to approximately 370 faculty, staff, and graduate students. Support is provided for Apple Macintosh and Dell Microsoft Window-based computer systems.

Application Support

We provide installation and technical support for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh operating systems. Support is also provided for a variety of standard software applications, including Microsoft Office, calendar, anti-virus, and email.

Graphic Design and Animation

Create and assist faculty and staff with development of graphic designs and animations for web, computer and print publications.

Multimedia Development

Design and assist faculty and staff with development of multimedia projects, video authoring, and digitizing media for Web, Internet, CD-ROM, and DVD presentations.

Web Design & Development

Design and develop College web sites. Implement University guidelines and W3C Web accessibility standards. Create a fully functional content managed web environment for secure user access and updating.

Information Sessions

Develop and conduct information sessions for faculty and staff, providing information and updates related to the Education Technology Center services and technological developments.

Printers

Recommend, install, configure, and troubleshoot network and local printers

Security & Virus Protection

Evaluate security and virus protection software. Install, maintain, and regularly update anti-virus software. Provide user awareness of viruses and personal anti-virus tactics to defend against virus outbreaks. Enforce and Respond to Penn State policies governing the security, protection, use and storage of digital material.

Training

Develop and conduct hands-on software application training in the faculty and staff technology-training lab utilizing Windows and Macintosh systems.
