CI 295 Early Field Experience Overview
CI 295 is an early field experience, offered in multiple formats, that is intended to introduce you to classroom observation, educational issues, and teaching as a career. CI 295 is a course that is required for admission to all of the teacher certification programs offered in Curriculum and Instruction.
Our early field experience requirements differ depending on your intended major.
CI 295 Requirements (for the 2009-10 academic year)
If you are seeking admission to any of the following teacher certification programs, you are required to enroll in CI 295:
- N-3
- K-6
- N-6
- any (7-12) secondary certification program
- world languages
CI 295A
If you are seeking admission to the Pre-K to 4th grade certification program (for students admitted for fall 2009 or later), you will need to enroll in CI 295A. This course will be offered for the first time in Fall 2010. Detailed information about the course will be posted here in January 2010.
CI 295B
If you are seeking admission to the 4th -8th grade certification program (for students admitted for fall 2009 or later), you will need to enroll in CI 295B.This course will be offered for the first time in Fall 2010. Detailed information about the course will be posted here in January 2010.
Special Summer CI 295 Offerings
There are also some special sections of CI 295 that are offered in unique locations during the summer semester. These experiences may be used as an alternative form of CI 295.
