Jim Herbert is a professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education at The Pennsylvania State University. He has nearly 34 years experience including 22 years as a rehabilitation counselor educator (primary teaching efforts directed toward career development and job placement of persons with disabilities as well as clinical supervision of vocational rehabilitation counselor interns), 7 years as a vocational evaluator and job placement specialist, 2 years as a rehabilitation psychologist in an acute rehabilitation hospital, and 2 years as a research specialist focusing on job placement of persons with severe disabilities.
He is Project Director for over 4.6 million dollars in research and training grant projects affiliated with improving vocational rehabilitation outcomes of persons with disabilities. His primary research interests (over 60 refereed juried articles) include clinical supervision of vocational rehabilitation counselors and job placement of persons with severe disabilities.
