Forging Pathways to College: The College of Education's Cycle-Thon & 5K Run/Walk
The Seventh Annual College of Education Cycle-Thon & 5K is scheduled for Sunday, September 9, 2012 starting at 10:00 a.m.
Bike Route begins at 10:00 a.m.
5K Run/Walk starts at 10:20 a.m.

Bike, Walk, or Run - It's up to you!
Bike route - 9 miles or 5K Run/Walk - 3.3 miles
Both routes start and end at Chambers Building at Penn State.

For a minimum donation of only $25.00, your name (or your organization's name) can be listed on the back of all official 2012 Cycle-Thon T-shirts! Student Clubs and Class Blocks are also competing to see who can raise the most money for the shirts - the winner will be announced on September 9th! Cycle-Thon is more than just a bike ride - it's a fundraiser for an important College of Education program - SCOPE. SCOPE provides access to the field of education by bringing selected high school students (first-generation and/or economically disadvantaged) to Penn State for a rigorous summer residential program. During their time as a SCOPE student, these young adults improve their study skills, learn about the college admission and financial aid process, and address areas including leadership, community service, cultural-affirmation, and personal development all while in a nurturing environment.
When you participate in Cycle-Thon, you're helping to put a very valuable opportunity within young adults reach--the opportunity for a higher education.

Registration Fees
$25.00 adults/non-students
$20.00 college students
$15.00 K-12 students (all minors are expected to be accompanied by their parent or guardian)
FREE 5 and under (all minors are expected to be accompanied by their parent or guardian)
Registration Includes: Ride or 5K, T-shirt, children's games, and program activities
Picnic Lunch: After the event, an awards ceremony will be held. Everyone is invited to stay and have lunch, enjoy the children's games and meet the Nittany Lion. You can pre-purchase a boxed lunch (Honey Baked Ham) during the online registration process, or bring your own lunch from home.
