Appointment Conditions
This position is classified as a 9-month Fixed-Term I Instructor at Penn State. A contract may be appointed annually based on funding availability. Full University benefits apply. Responsibilities
The person(s) in this position will work individually and with a team of colleagues to provide field delivered teacher education toward Vocational Instructional I Certification in Central Pennsylvania.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a Vocational Instructional II Certificate or equivalent;
- Have taught or been an administrator in a vocational/technical school;
- Possess a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Pennsylvania.

The College of Education

Department of Learning and Performance Systems (LPS)
The Department of Learning and Performance Systems [http://www.ed.psu.edu/educ/lps] includes three programs: Adult Education; Learning, Design, and Technology; and Workforce Education and Development. All three programs offer separate degrees, but students, faculty, and staff collaborate on teaching, research, and service.
The Workforce Education and Development Program
The mission of the Workforce Education and Development Program is to promote excellence, opportunity, and leadership among professionals in the workforce education and development field including, but not limited to, those employed in secondary or postsecondary education institutions, social services industries, employee groups, and private businesses. The Career and Technical Education emphasis focuses upon preparing individuals for Pennsylvania licensure as teachers and administrators as well as research in the field.

Applicants must submit a letter of application outlining qualifications, curriculum vitae, copies of official graduate transcripts, and one recent example of a scholarly article if available. Applicants should arrange for three academic letters of reference to be sent directly to the search committee. These academic letters of reference should include names, office and email addresses, and phone numbers for follow-up contact. Screening of applications will begin March 15, 2013, and will continue until a suitable candidate is found.
