Research Interests

Young people's educational and career development: models of the effects of middle- and high-school variables on bachelor's degree completion, gender socialization effects and environmental and cultural influences on career development of adolescents; adolescents' educational expectations and postsecondary educational choices; parental involvement and adolescents' career development; intergenerational career-related goal transmission processes; career information resources; multicultural career counseling for adolescents and young adults.

Counselor education: adult attachment styles and empathy of counseling students; family-of-origin perceptions and social attributes of counselor trainees; multicultural counseling and counselors' interpersonal skills.
