Special Ed Courses for General Education Teachers

SPLED 400 and 403a/b address the knowledge and skills needed by general education teachers for working with students with disabilities. These classes are required for all teacher certification candidates at Penn State, and address the competencies required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. SPLED 400 should be scheduled by all teacher certification candidates. Individuals who will be working with elementary age students should schedule 403a, individuals working with secondary age students should schedule 403b. Please consult the check sheet for your program to confirm the correct choice for your major.

Multiple sections of SPLED 400 and 403a/b will be offered each fall and spring semester.
