Introduction

Dr. Preston Green comes to Penn State from the University of Massachusetts where he served as an associate professor in the Department of Educational Policy, Research, and Administration and as assistant dean for pre-major advising services. Dr. Green holds an Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University and a J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law.

Professor Green's research has focused on the legal issues surrounding charter schools and the impact of the law on minority and disadvantaged students' ability to obtain a quality education. He has co-authored a recently published book, Charter Schools and the Law: Establishing New Legal Relationships, with Julie Mead. He is also the co-author of the forthcoming book, Financing Education Systems, with Craig Richards and Bruce Baker. He publishes regularly in educational journals and law reviews, including West's Education Law Reporter, Brigham Young University Law and Education Journal, and the Texas Forum on Civil Rights & Civil Liberties. Dr. Green has taught courses relating to the legal and policy aspects of personnel management, labor relations, and social justice issues.
