Master's Degree
Higher Education Master's Degree Requirements
The M.Ed. degree program offers a three-track option with a minimum requirement of 30 credits. One track is called the General Administration track and its curriculum is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in the many administrative areas of colleges and universities. The second track is called the Student Engagement track and has been designed for students who are interested in working in administrative areas specifically related to students in colleges and universities. Both tracks can be completed in one calendar year of full-time studies or two or more years of part-time studies. Each provides both scholarly coursework and practical experiences necessary to securing an entry-level position in higher education administration. The Third track is called College Student Affairs, for more information click here.

In addition, students matriculated in the HI ED M.Ed. program are subject to following Graduate School and HI ED Program requirements.
Degree requirements include a research course (e.g., statistics, qualitative methods), a minimum of six credits in a “minor” field, and a Master's research paper. The Graduate School requires that at least 18 credits of a master’s degree work must be taken at the 500 level. Master’s students, along with their advisers, will select appropriate coursework to design the degree program.
