Putting Moral Literacy to Work−9 Years Later

Join us at Penn State for the 2013 Moral Literacy Colloquium. The theme of this year’s meeting, Putting Moral Literacy to Work−9 Years Later, will provide a context for considering how the theory and practice of moral literacy has evolved over the past nine years in the context of educational leadership. The colloquium is designed to engage both practitioner and academic experiences and perspectives. The two days will feature keynote speakers, panel sessions, and several interactive sessions.

Featured Presenters

Dawn LaFargue, Penn State University

Pauline Leonard, Louisiana Tech University

Wafa Hozien, Virginia State University

Hollie Mackey, University of Oklahoma

Sarah Clark Miller, Penn State University

Joseph Polizzi, Marywood University

Daniel Schochor, Crossroads School, Baltimore

Lindy Zaretsky, Geneva Center for Autism, Toronto

This year's event is organized by the Rock Ethics Institute and opens on Friday, April 12 at 5:00 p.m. at the Nittany Lion Inn and continues on Saturday, April 13 in the Rackley Building of the Penn State campus.

Our intent is to tap into the collective experience of the participants to learn about how they perceive moral literacy in their various professional contexts. This will include discussions of best practices, theory development, social and professional issues, perceptions of progress or decline in moral literacy, and proposals for future   initiatives.

The audience will include a mix of faculty, practitioners, and graduate students from the US and Canada. As has been our pattern, there will be an emphasis on interaction among all participants across both days. There is no fee for attending. All meals are provided for all participants Friday evening through Saturday evening.

Register to attend by April 5, 2013 by contacting:
