Digital Signs
Digital Signs
Over the last year, the College has installed digital signs throughout the 4 buildings occupied by the College. The first 6 screens were installed in May 2008, and 6 additional screens were added in Spring 2009.
Read the signs online!
The messages on the digital signs are also available online at www.ed.psu.edu/signs.
To Navigate from the College home page:
Go to www.ed.psu.edu/educ.
Select "For Current Faculty and Staff."
Select “Digital Signs” in the navigation or under “Featured Links.”
Since the first screens were installed, the signage system is intended to become a useful communication tool to increase awareness about upcoming College events and announcements, build a stronger College community, and play an important role in the College's emergency communications plan.
How to submit an announcement
Members of our College community are welcome to submit messages for broadcasting. Suggestions for messages include:
- Announcements for upcoming lectures, brown bags, receptions, etc.
- Upcoming student organization meetings
- Welcome messages for visitors - “Welcome to our guests from X University,” for example
- Advisory notices for students – upcoming deadlines, etc.
- Congratulations announcements for faculty, staff and student accomplishments
If you would like to place messages on these signs, please send your requests to edrelations@psu.edu.
Other suggestions regarding the signs are also welcome.
Design your own sign
If you would like to design the look of your own message for the signs, please create an image according to the following specifications:
- .jpeg format,
- 300 dpi resolution, and
- a width of 1066 pixels and height of 600 pixels.
- Please incorporate into the image an empty margin of 55 pixels so the bottom portion of your message is not cut off by the scrolling bottom banner.
Send the image as an e-mail attachment to Wanda Wasilko at wlw2@psu.edu.
The signage software does not support animation or sound. The Office of College Relations may edit any sign submission.
