Doctoral Degree Programs

Doctoral programs are offered by Penn State on the University Park campus. The documents in this section explain our Instructional Systems doctoral programs and describe our courses and faculty. Our intent is to provide important information to prospective students as they select a graduate program and to assist enrolled students in meeting program requirements. The Instructional Systems Program offers one doctoral degree:

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.)

Masters Degree Programs

The Instructional Systems Program offers two separate master's degree programs in Instructional Systems:

• Master of Education (M.Ed., in Instructional Systems) (Residential Program)

• Master of Education (M.Ed., in Instructional Systems - Educational Technology Emphasis) (Online Degree Program only)

Certification Programs in Instructional Systems


The Instructional Systems Program offers a 15-credit certificate that emphasizes use of technology in classrooms, available online through Penn State's World Campus:
