Edmondson to Chair University’s Administrative Council on Undergraduate Education

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Jacqueline Edmondson, associate dean for undergraduate and graduate studies, has been elected chair of Penn State’s Administrative Council on Undergraduate Education (ACUE).  ACUE is the University’s principal advisory agency on administrative matters that impact undergraduate education.

The ACUE membership elects its chair from among the University’s pool of associate or assistant deans. ACUE’s membership includes the vice president and dean for undergraduate education, the associate vice president and senior associate dean for undergraduate education, associate or assistant deans for undergraduate education from academic units, and representatives from academic support agencies across the University.

Edmondson's appointment as chair begins in July; she will serve a two-year term in that capacity.

Edmondson has been serving as the College of Education’s representative to ACUE since assuming her role as associate dean in 2007. Her research focuses on education policy, rural schools and communities, and biography. She serves as a member of the Obama-Medvedev Commission, officially known as the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission, which was created as a way to improve communication and cooperation between the governments of the two countries.
