Six College of Education Faculty Members to Receive Promotion/Tenure

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The College of Education is pleased to announce that six of its faculty members have been approved for promotion and/or tenure by the University. These actions become effective July 1.

The following have been accorded promotion and/or tenure this year:

Jacqueline Edmondson, associate dean for undergraduate and graduate studies, was promoted to the rank of professor.

Richard M. Kubina, Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education, was promoted to the rank of professor.

Elizabeth A. Mellin, Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education, has been offered tenure and a promotion to the rank of associate professor.

Scott A. Metzger, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, has been offered tenure and a promotion to the rank of associate professor.

Kimberly A. Powell, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, has been offered tenure and a promotion to the rank of associate professor.

Anne L. Whitney, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, has been offered tenure and a promotion to the rank of associate professor.

The promotion-and-tenure process is a rigorous review of the faculty members' scholarship of teaching and learning; research and creative accomplishments; and service to the University, society, and the profession. The six faculty members will be honored in the fall semester at a dinner hosted by Dean David H. Monk.

"They are all bringing great distinction to the College and the University, and it is very fitting to be recognizing their accomplishments with these promotion and tenure decisions."
