Rose Baker Appointed to Commission for Women

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Rose M. Baker has been appointed by Penn State President Graham Spanier to a three-year term as a member of the University’s Commission for Women.

Baker, assistant professor of workforce education and development in the College of Education and program manager of the Workforce Assessment Center in Penn State Outreach, earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems and an M.Ed. in Adult Education from Penn State. She holds a B.A. in mathematics and chemistry from Washington and Jefferson College.

Baker is a certified project management professional by the Project Management Institute. She has held positions with Penn State Management Development, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Penn State World Campus, University of Phoenix, General Motors University, and the Southern Huntingdon County (Pa.) School District.

The Commission membership includes Penn State administrators, faculty, staff exempt, staff nonexempt, technical service employees, and graduate and undergraduate students. The Commission advises President Spanier about the status of women at Penn State, advocates for women’s concerns, and recommends solutions. Baker previously served as a member of the Commission’s wage equity and assessment committees.
