Stephanie Serriere Wins Course Development Grant
Five Penn State faculty members, each at a different Penn State campus, were selected for the award. Serriere’s project is titled “A Constitution Day 2008 Community Forum: Using the Structured Academic Controversy Model to Discuss Downloading Creative Material from the Internet.”
The recipients use the grant to embed Constitution Day 2008 course work into their curricula to help students recognize connections between education and the U.S. Constitution’s blueprint for public sovereignty. The course work is intended to help form the basis of the University’s activities during this year’s Constitution Day celebration on September 17. On that day, students at five Penn State campuses will share scholarship and course projects fostering constitutional understanding and democratic capacity with their communities.
