Research Initiation Grants Awarded to Three Faculty in Fall 2007

Three College of Education faculty members were awarded Research Initiation Grants (RIGs) in the Fall 2007 semester. RIGs are designed to help College faculty members incubate their developmental research ideas in anticipation of pursuing external funding for the full study.

RIG awards generally are in the amount of $9,000 or somewhat below. The awards may be used to support travel to libraries or research sites, to collect and analyze data, to develop instrumentation, to meet with potential sponsors, to seek a release from teaching, to purchase research materials, or to fund a research assistant.
