Rothwell to Receive ASTD Distinguished Contribution Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – William Rothwell, professor of workforce education and development, has been named winner of the 2011 Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance Award. This prestigious award, given by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), recognizes an exceptional contribution of sustained impact on the field of workplace learning and performance.

Rothwell was honored May 7 during the ASTD International Conference & Exposition in Denver, Colo.

Rothwell is a recognized leader in succession planning and talent management and a professor at the prestigious Workforce Education and Development program at Penn State. He is the author of the bestselling book Effective Succession Planning: Ensuring Leadership Continuity and Building Talent from Within.
