Enter the Third Annual 5K Race/3K Walk to Help Cure Autism

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Rally your friends, families, and coworkers to join us in support of a common goal—to find the causes, effective treatments, and a cure for autism.

On Saturday, April 12, the third annual We Are…Curing Autism Now 5K Race/3K Walk, presented by Beta Sigma Beta, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Delta Tau, will take center stage in State College. Faculty and students from the Special Education program in the College of Education are also involved in the effort.

This year's event will feature a competitive 5K run, a family-friendly 3K walk, autism information, musical performances, and much more.  Last year, over 1,100 participants came out and helped raise more than $200,000.

Register now to be part of the excitement. You may choose to either register as an individual, start a team, or join a team.

The Penn State College of Education makes continual efforts to improve efforts to serve children with autism spectrum disorders. The College is heavily involved in the annual National Autism Conference held each summer on the Penn State University Park campus. The National Autism Conference is the largest conference held on the Penn State campus and is one of the largest meetings of its kind in the world. Doctors, psychologists, teachers, social workers, and of course, parents all attend the conference. It has proven to be largely successful, offering information for anyone who is touched by autism.
