Commendations
14.1 Provide your school’s admissions policy and procedures, which state whether enrollment is unlimited or limited. If enrollment is limited, provide nondiscriminatory eligibility requirements contained in the admissions policy.
SUN: ALL CIPs. Nondiscrimination statements are published annually in the newspaper. The suggestion box and customer feedback form provide excellent opportunities for students to be able to convey concerns to the administration. (See pgs. 236-239 of THIS PDF DOCUMENT for admissions policies, pg. 243 for the non-discrimination policy, and p.244 for the suggestion box procedures)
MBIT 15.1, 15.3. the school provided policy #201 that details the admissions procedures and the application form that is utilized to implement the selection of students. The process is primarily based on capacity with a nondiscriminatory scale employed when interest exceeds capacity. The school implements a commendable process of accepting students and collecting student data from the high schools, including PSSA results.
15.3 Describe selection and appropriate program placement procedure.
GJR: the use of a 3 to 5 day Orientation Classroom and Career Scope Assessment (for interest and aptitude) is well used.
Franklin: the participating districts are commended for inviting CTC personnel to interview prospective students; therefore, more appropriate placements can be realized.
