Commendations
MBIT: The remodeling project has consumed an extensive amount of time by the CTC administration and staff, JOC, superintendents and advisory groups; however, it reflects the support and commitment of the partnership. The school’s leadership is commended for the commitment in time and resources to complete the remodeling that will provide the updated facilities and resources to serve the community.
20.1: Provide evidence to show that shop/laboratory size is adequate and comparable to industry standards as recommended by the Occupational Advisory Committee.
Butler: CIP 47.0603, Autobody. The shop/lab has adequate equipment and is updated according to industry standards. CIP 48.0501, Machine Tool Technology/Machinist. Machinery is very well positioned in the lab to allow instructor to see entire area while students are working on projects. This allows the instructor to monitor safety at all times.
GJR: CIP 11.0901 Computer Systems Networking- The neatness and organization of the classroom materials, equipment and supplies are to be commended. In the locked tool cabinet, each tool was properly identified and clearly inventoried.
Franklin: CIP 01.0601, applied horticulture/horticultural operations, General: The Horticulture Sales Facility provides a workplace in conjunction with Marketing to provide a sales room and showcase of products. This is an excellent opportunity for students in both areas to display knowledge of program content in a practical and public setting.
Franklin: CIP 52.1801 Sales, Distribution, and Marketing Operations, General: Plans to move the school store to the front entrance will enhance the program.
Mercer: CIP 48.0599 Great investments into equipment for this program. CIP 12.0508: the present facility meets industry standards in space and equipment. Future plans are to expand the facility to include a separate classroom and restaurant. CIP 19.0799 OAC reviews the facility and agrees it meets industry standards for preschool.
20.2: Provide evidence to show that the number of students assigned is not greater than the number of workstations available.
GJR: All CIPs have a manageable student limit.
SUN: All CIPs. A capacity chart for all shops is available. CIP 51.0601: since the dental program has an operating dental practice in the school and students are placed there, the space for the program is adequate.
20.3: Provide evidence to show that equipment is comparable to industry standards.
Berks: CIP 10.0399 Graphics Communications. Other CIP 50.0402 Commercial and Advertising Art, and CIP 50.0406 Commercial Photography: these programs in the Communication Cluster are commended for producing various posters, cards, and other publications and signs for this school , county-wide schools, and non-profit organizations.
Berks: All CIPs: New equipment that was purchased is state-of-the-art through OAC recommendations and meets all industry standards. The corresponding curriculum updates are not included in competency lists and are beginning to be incorporated into individual learning guides. (See THS PDF DOCUMENT for OAC Documentation)
Butler 20.1, 20.2, 20.3: CIP 43.999m Protective Services. The October 19, 2005 OAC meeting minutes indicated that a tour of the facility was conducted and the committee expressed approval on new and existing equipment. The updates to the classroom as well as the current configuration of the building were acknowledged and duly noted.
Franklin: CIP 47.0604, Automotive Technology, program appears to have state of the art equipment that replicates the workplace.
SUN: CIP 47.0603. Equipment is modern and I-Car standards are used in the classroom. CIP 51.0601. Since the Dental program has a live work component with an actual dental practice, the equipment is current to industry standards, the school is able to share some expensive dental equipment that was purchased by the dentist. CIP 43.0107: This program has been approved a lease to provide students with the opportunity to utilize a Fire Arm Simulator.
