Ethan Fried of Langhorne, PA, was honored as the College of Education student marshal at the Penn State baccalaureate commencement ceremony on Saturday, August 11, at the Bryce Jordan Center. He selected Dr. David Chase, who served as his academic advisor, to escort him as the college’s Faculty Marshal.

Rodney Hughes is a doctoral candidate in the higher education program at Penn State. Today he researches the effects of tuition pricing on admissions and its relation to the accessibility of higher education. Hughes came from a high school graduating class of only 24 students, which would certainly make a student body of nearly 4,000 seem daunting. Yet, the experience was quite the opposite.

Melissa Kehs served as the student marshal for the Penn State College of Education’s Spring 2012 commencement. She led the procession of graduates at the College’s baccalaureate ceremony, held on Sunday, May 6 in Bryce Jordan Center. Kehs selected Rose Mary Zbiek to escort her as the College’s faculty marshal.

Lauren Apgar ventured onto Penn State's campus four years ago, still unsure where she wished to attend college. She had visited multiple state universities in the previous weeks, but was unsure of which college specifically. This all changed once she saw Penn State.

Maura Keasey was chosen as the Fall 2011 student marshal for the College of Education. She will be honored during commencement on Saturday, December 17 in the Bryce Jordan Center. Two years ago, circus troupe Cirque du Soleil handed out free clown noses in the HUB to market its performances at Penn State Bryce Jordan Center. Schreyer Scholar Chad Littlefield grabbed one on a whim decided to wear it all the way back to his dorm, grinning and waving to all of the people he passed. To his surprise, fellow students were delighted.
