From the PSSC President:

Dear Colleague,

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become a member of The Pennsylvania School Study Council. As the current sitting president and long standing member of the PSSC, I have received the professional publications over the years and used this information with my school board and leadership team in order to provide them with the most current trends in the field of education coming out of both funded and unfunded educational research programs from around the country.

The PSSC is responsive to the needs of members currently serving in the educational field. The PSSC executive committee meets several times a year to discuss what is happening in the field of education and what professional development or educational research can be provided to PSSC membership to assist them in the issues they are confronting at the local level.

Another aspect aside of the providing education research and professional development, the PSSC yearly asks members to take a moment and nominate individuals in the field of education for the Walter J. DeLacy Award for Excellence in Instruction, Award for Outstanding Service to Public Education, and the William E. Caldwell Award for Excellence in Administration and Supervision. The award presentation for these awards is conducted at the PSBA/PASA fall conference and/or the PSU Educational Leadership Alumni Tailgate Bruch at the Nittany Lion Inn.

As you can see, the PSSC is an organization that provides opportunities for professional develop along with the abilities to recognize those in the educational field that are leading the way. Those are the reasons I feel that a membership to the PSSC is well worth it.

Sincerely,

William A. Clark, D.Ed.
