PSSC Showcase of Exemplary Practices
Annually, in the Fall, the PA School Study Council (PSSC) will solicit the member schools for nominations of district programs of best practice, school improvement or educational programs that positively impact the provision of instruction and the achievement of students. These nominated and submitted practices must be actually implemented at that PSSC member district with adequate time in effect to have formal or informal data verifying success.
All nominated practices will be acknowledged by PSSC and considered for the Showcase electronic publication, to be shared with all member schools. The recognized exemplary practices will be published in the electronic Showcase and also shared with that district’s local newspaper for an additional recognition. A framed certificate of recognition will also be awarded.
SEP Review Committee:
A Showcase Review Committee will be formed each year for the purpose of judging the submitted nominations for SEP. This committee will be composed of:
- One superintendent from a PSSC member school,
- One Intermediate Unit Executive Director or designee, also a PSSC member,
- Two Penn State University Faculty members
- One appointment from a PSSC member school made by the Executive Committee of PSSC
All members of the review committee will come from schools without nominations for SEP.
All SEP nominations shall be submitted on PSSC provided forms. All categorical information on the forms must be complete for consideration. The nomination must be submitted in triplicate to the PSSC office at:
