Brief Biography
Dr. Farmer, Professor of Education, is currently serving as Department Head of Learning and Performance Systems, consisting of three academic programs (Adult Education, Instructional Systems, and Workforce Education & Development) with 21 tenure-track and 17 Fixed-term faculty members with an annual budget of 1.7 million dollars. During the 2003 School year, he served as an Administrative Fellow to the Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School as well as Professor of Education, and Director of Postsecondary Technical & Community College Leadership in the Workforce Education & Development Program (WFED) at The Pennsylvania State University (PSU). He has also served as the PSU Site Director for the National Research and Dissemination Centers on Career & Technical Education from December 1999 to August 14, 2002 (A 20 million dollars Consortium with the University of Illinois, University of Minnesota, Ohio State University and Oregon State University). Furthermore, he has served as Professor-in-Charge of graduate programs for masters and doctoral degrees in the WFED program from July 1, 1997 to June 30, 1999.
