Brief Biography

Robert W. Clark, Jr. is an Associate Professor of Workforce Education and Development in the College of Education. Dr. Clark is responsible for the Vocational Director certification program at Penn State. He teaches courses in career and technial education at the graduate and undergraduate levels. His graduate courses include Personnel Administration, Ethics in Workforce Education, Fiscal and Facilities Management, Curriculum & Instructional Leadership in Workforce Education, and Workforce Education Management. Dr. Clark's undergraduate courses include Assessment Techniques and Trends and Issues in Workforce Education. Dr. Clark's research interests include career and technical leadership, fiscal policy issues, experiential learning, data-driven professional development, and state/national policy in career and technical education.
 
Dr. Clark holds a B.S. and M.Ed. in Agricultural Education from North Carolina State Univeristy in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Clark received his Ph.D. from Penn State in 1993 in Agricultural Education with an emphasis in career and technical education and educational leadership. Dr. Clark's background includes of teaching agricultural education at the secondary level and serving as an administrator in a comprehensive career and technical center. Additionally, Dr. Clark has worked with the National Council for Agricultural Education, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, The Education Trust, as well as other educational groups in curriculum and professional development. He is currently co-authoring a textbook on workforce development in veterinary assisting.
 
Dr. Clark has served a two year term as the president of the Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators and in 2005, he was named outstanding Agricltultural Educator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
