After the Course Ends

Information for all WFED students after completing courses.

Find your course grade

You can access your course grade as soon as your instructor enters it into the university system. Click on “students” at https://elion.psu.edu to request a report of your course grades. eLion provides much more information besides grades and is available any time of day for your convenience.
Resolve unpaid bills.  (Retro Active Form found on the registrars page)

In the event that you did not pay your bill on time during the semester, you may petition the office of the University Registrar to allow you to pay an outstanding debt and to earn a grade for the work you did in during the semester.   Tuition and fees for this semester’s course work are due before courses or grades will be added to your transcript.  You will be assessed tuition and fees bases on the current rates that are in effect when you pay and on your current semester standing. The process will require completion of paperwork, payment of the outstanding debt and signature of Dr. Walter. To prevent delaying registration for the next semester and the $250 late registration fee and $50 bursar fee, complete this paperwork as soon as possible. For more information about petitioning the office of the University Registrar, read more at http://www.registrar.psu.edu or speak with Kristy Taylor or Karen Schultz, 814-865-6357.

Apply and prepare for PRAXIS Exams.

National teaching exams, called PRAXIS tests, are required to qualify for the Vocational Instructional I, Vocational Instructional II, Co-op, and Director certificates. Click on PRAXIS II at http://www.ets.org/praxis to download the “Test At A Glance” booklet (click in left column) and to learn more about each test. Also see the “New PPST test-taking ”, link at http://www.ed.psu.edu/educ/ppdc/praxis for test preparation assistance.
Keep your Act 48 file up-to-date.

When you complete your course successfully, Penn State will report the required information on your behalf directly to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), if you authorize the release of your private information. Go to http://www.psu.edu/registrar/act48/act48.html to authorize Penn State to notify PDE about the course you completed.

Keep track of the date your current certificate expires and your progress toward that goal.
Refer to your personal plan or timeline for finishing the requirements to earn your next certificate or maintain a terminal one. Then decide which course(s) you will take next semester and register. Remember, you are responsible for doing what you need to do to be a certified career and technical educator.

Complete the paperwork for your certificate.

If you have completed your course work and passed the PRAXIS exam for your certificate, you have one last step. You must apply for your certificate. Contact Cheryl Stamm at (814)863-0804 or via email at crc10@psu.edu for the forms and instructions you will need to have your certificate sent to you.
