Welcome to Workforce Education and Development at Penn State University. We appreciate your interest in our program, one of the oldest in the University. Our undergraduate program consists of a full-time University Park teacher education/preparation program and a large off-campus degree and non-degree program leading to teacher certification.
Call for papers from current doctoral students and recent doctoral graduates.
We offer four graduate degrees:
- M.Ed.
- M.S.
- D.Ed.
- Ph.D.
Doctoral students may choose from four different emphases: human resource development/organization development, school-to-work, and secondary or postsecondary career and technical education leadership. Master's degree students have these four choices, plus an additional option in teacher certification.
The mission of the Workforce Education and Development Program is to promote excellence, opportunity, and leadership among professionals in the workforce education and development field including, but not limited to, those employed in secondary or postsecondary education institutions, social services industries, and employee groups and private businesses.
The faculty envision a cost-effective program that is recognized nationally as being among the best of its type in scholarship, leadership, and professional preparation.
We are proud of our program, which consistently ranks in the top three of its type in national assessments of program quality. Equally important, however, is the collaborative learning environment we enjoy. Whatever your specific focus within the field of Workforce Education and Development, you should be able to find faculty and students willing to work with you on projects of mutual interest.
