Ravinder Koul, Associate Professor of Education, teaches courses in science education, educational research and curriculum development in the Science Education, Instructional Leadership and online Teacher Leadership programs. Dr. Koul’s research has focused on two areas of science and technology education: 1) Motivation (socio-cultural, achievement, religious and materialistic goal orientations) and academic behavior (attitudes toward science, English medium instruction, and plagiarism); 2) Utilization of computer tools (specifically concept mapping tools) for inquiry-based science teaching. Dr. Koul was awarded Fulbright Senior Specialist assignments to Thailand in 2006 and 2010. Dr. Koul has served as a member of the editorial board of The Electronic Journal of Science Education and program proposal reviewer for Current Issues in Education and numerous divisions of the National Association for Research in Science Teaching and The American Educational Research Association.
