Dr. Meyer studies learning, reading, and decision-making across the lifespan. She also teaches learners of various ages and backgrounds a reading strategy focusing on using the structure in text (the structure strategy) to improve their reading comprehension. Her research team is developing and testing an intelligent tutor to teach the structure strategy (ITSS) to students in Grades 4 - 8; the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences is funding the ITSS research through a Development and an Efficacy grant.
