Department: Curriculum & Instruction Formerly a chemistry and physics teacher, Dr. Rubba joined the faculty at Penn State in 1984 after eight years at Southern Illinois University. His research and scholarship focused on Nature of Science, the integration of STS into middle school and high school science, and science teacher development in these areas. Dr. Rubba served as Head of the Department of Curriculum & Instruction from 1994 to 2000, and as Director of Academic Affairs for Graduate Programs with the World Campus (Penn State's Online/Distance Education Campus) from 2000 to 2011.
