About Dr. Lindsay:

Dr. Beverly Lindsay has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant where she is the Principal Investigator/Project Director along with Co-PIs from the Institute of Education-University of London and University of Texas. Dr. Lindsay is a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Education and Guest Professor at Oxford University. The  multi-year grant began in Fall 2013 whereby the Investigators engage in extensive field research of graduate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs at American and English Universities. Since the NSF-AGEP grant focuses on major metropolitan research universities in the United States and England, Dr. Lindsay will be mentoring and working with graduate/doctoral students and emerging professionals from sites such as Columbia University, Emory University, Johns Hopkins University, Ohio State University and the University of Alabama.

She was awarded a fourth Fulbright Fellowship during Fall 2013 at the University of Lampung (Lampung Province, Indonesia), the Ministry of Education and Culture (Jakarta), and BINUS University (Jakarta).  At the University of Lampung, she developed seminars and provided research development for faculty and students in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. She also team-taught in the Faculty of Medicine to the faculty regarding research methods and presentations at international conferences where English is the lingua franca. 

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) President Dr. Joyce King appointed Dr. Lindsay as a multi-year member of the Palmer O. Johnson Memorial Award Committee. In 2015, Dr. Lindsay will become the Committee Chair and work with forthcoming AERA President Dr. Jeannie Oakes in the selection of the highest quality academic scholarship published in one of top tier AERA journals, American Education Research Journal, Education Evaluation and Policy Analysis, Educational Researcher, or Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics.

In 2012, Dr. Lindsay was appointed as an Ambassador for PromoDoc, a European Union program encouraging doctoral studies in EU nations for American and Canadian students. As a former Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellow and a Post-doctoral Fellow, she is further working with Vice Chancellors from University of California sites on Projects concerning former Ford Foundation Fellows who have become university executives. One of the endeavors includes working with current or emerging women university leaders in post conflict societies. 

She is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and had additional Fulbright Fellowship in South Korea, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. She is a former President of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) and former Dean of International Education and Policy Studies at Hampton University and Penn State. She has co-authored/edited seven books and written over 100 articles, chapters, and essays. She was a former Executive in the United States Department of State.
