Visit the College's News & Events Site or Return to E-Bridges New Professional Development Certificate in Autism Penn State is offering a newly revamped 12-credit Professional Development Certificate in Autism through its Office of Statewide Programs. This five-course, graduate-level program provides special education teachers and other professionals with advanced training in the field of autism spectrum disorders. Pennsylvania teachers can earn Act 48 credits and a credential certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Bureau of Special Education. “There are very few such programs available, and we have been getting queries from across the United States,” noted Pamela S. Wolfe, associate professor in the Department of Educational and School Psychology and Special Education. “Many organizations, such as the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), require ongoing education for their members,” Wolfe said. “We will be seeking to have the certificate courses count for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).” For more information, visit the Professional Development Certificate in Autism Web site. ### |
