Long-Term Professional Development Opportunities

Half-Year Sabbaticals for Science Teachers

With support from the Boeing Corporation, Penn State is awarding half-year sabbatical fellowships of $20,000 for urban science teachers to work with scientists and engineers on cutting-edge science and engineering.
• Meet other teachers and science professionals and plug into science outreach projects and resources.
• Learn new content and scientific skills by working with a research team in fields like astronomy, oceanography, or nanotechnology.
• Depending on their project, you can be based at University Park or a number of other campuses and research sites.

The Penn State College of Education serves approximately 2,800 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students each year. The College prepares administrators, counselors, psychologists and researchers, as well as K-12 teachers in 21 different specialty areas. All of the College of Education graduate programs, that are ranked by the U.S. News & World Report, appear at least in the top 15, with six programs in the top ten.The College's Higher Education Administration program is ranked 1st and the Workforce Education and Development program is ranked 2nd.
