Visit the College's News & Events Site or Return to Connections Soto Visits Alumni in Taiwan During a conference in Taiwan on “Global Communication and Cultural Identity,” Professor Lourdes Diaz Soto (3rd from right) was the keynote with the paper “Linguistic and Cultural Identity: The Influence of American Popular Culture in the Global Sphere.”
Soto attended a Penn State alumni reunion comprised of graduates of the Bilingual/Bicultural Education Program, including (left to right): Dr. Pei-ling Wang, department chair in the Department of Applied Foreign Languages at National Kaohsiung University; Dr. Ling-ying Chen, language center coordinator; Dr. Yeu-chiu Fang, department chair; Dr. I Chien-Chen, professor of languages and technology; Mei-Ching Wang, who is currently completing her dissertation, and Beth Blue Swadener, a former Penn State professor. ###
