TTRC's user-friendly menu-driven system provides ready access to information in the areas of:
TTRC is an on-line information system established by the Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA). TTRC's mission is to serve as an electronic point of access to a wide range of workforce development information and to foster information sharing throughout the Employment and Training Community.
Users will be able to access the following types of information:
Full text of the skill standards, Guides to Benchmarking International Skill Standards, Guiding Principles, Legislation, Press Releases, Public Hearings, answers to frequently asked questions, information on the National Skill Standards Board, a Skill Standards Consultants Directory, Descriptions of various practices by Industry International, and State, Descriptions of the Skill Standards Demonstration Projects, Research Topics, and descriptions of Organizations and Products related to skill standards. Users can download this information in ASCII text format or e-mail it to their Internet accounts.
TTRC provides free access to its online system via modem. In the Washington, D.C. metro area, dial (202) 219-5941. For long distance calls, dial (800) 767-0806. Communication parameters should be set to 8 data bits, No parity, and 1 Stop bit (8-N-1). Set terminal emulation to vt220 or vt100/102. TTRC modems answer up to 14.4k bps.
All first time users should login as "newuser" and will then be prompted to enter their zip code. A user information packet is also available and will be sent via snail mail by choosing the "User Registration" option from the Main Menu.
