
Video Viewing Information for
Windows
Before you proceed, there are audio/video clips incorporated in this site that will require the free downloadable Apple QuickTime player plugin to view. If you do not currently have Apple QuickTime installed on your computer, you will need to download the latest version 4.0. If you do have the Apple QuickTime Player plugin installed, it needs to be at least version 3.0 to be able to view these video clips.
To test your computer to see if the QuickTime Plugin is currently available to view audio and video, go to:
http://www.ed.psu.edu/poa/pcplugin/default.html
and if needed, install the Apple QuickTime Player Plugin.
After you have entered the above web address, please test your computer by playing the QuickTime audio and video clip.
Step#1
If your system successfully played back the
test audio and video clip, please enter the following web address
to begin the Project, Opportunity and Access web site. http://www.ed.psu.edu/poa
Step#2
If your system did not successfully play
back the test audio and video clip, you will need to install the
Apple QuickTime player plugin. The following instructions help
guide you through this process. It is recommended that you use
Netscape 4.0 or higher or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher to view
the QuickTime clips presented within the Project Opportunity and
Access web site.
Step#3
Click the QuickTime icon shown below to
link to the Apple QuickTime Site to begin the download process.

Step#4
The Apple QuickTime download site appears like the screen
captures below. Please insert your email address, first and last
name, and select QuickTime for Windows
95/98/NT. Select DOWNLOAD QUICKTIME.

| Step#5 You will be prompted to select a directory to save the QuickTime Installer. To make the installation easy, save the installer to the desktop. Select the drop down arrow to locate your desktop. Select SAVE. |

| Step#6 A progress bar illustrates the download process. |

| Step#7 Exit the web browser and all other Windows applications you have open. The installer application will appear on your desktop as shown at the right. Double click on the installer icon to begin the installation process. |

| Step#8 The first dialog box welcomes you to QuickTime 4.0 and prompts you to continue. Select NEXT. |

| Step#9 This dialog box also welcomes you to QuickTime 4.0. Select NEXT. |
||
| Step#10 This dialog box prompts you to agree to the licensing agreement. Select AGREE. |
||
| Step#11 This dialog box displays the destination directory. Leave the destination directory as is. Select NEXT. |
||
| Step#12 This dialog box prompts you to choose an installation type. For our purposes, please choose the Minimum setting. You may wish to explore the Full and Custom options at a later time. Select NEXT. |

| Step#13 This dialog box prompts you to select a program folder. Select NEXT. |
||
| Step#14 This dialog box allows you to select which browser you would like to have the QuickTime Plugin installed. Please select both. Select NEXT. |

| Step#15 This dialog box prompts you to select which connection speed you are currently using. Select the modem speed you are using. Select NEXT. |
||
| Step#16 This dialog box prompts you to submit your registration number. It is not necessary to fill in the registration information. Select NEXT. |
||
| Step#17 This dialog box alerts you that the data is about to be downloaded to your computer. Select CONTINUE. |

| Step#18 This dialog box indicates that download is in progress. |

| Step#19 This dialog box indicates that download was successful. Unselect both boxes. Select CLOSE. |
Go back to the QuickTime test page http://www.ed.psu.edu/poa/pcplugin/default.html , reload the page and see if you can successfully
hear and see the QuickTime clip.
