Biography

David Lee is a Professor of Special Education at Penn State University, where he trains future special education teachers and behavior analysts. His work addresses the challenges educators face when supporting students with behavioral, academic, and social difficulties—particularly within inclusive general education classrooms.

Dr. Lee’s research focuses on developing, evaluating, and disseminating classroom-based supports for students with, or at risk for, emotional-behavioral health needs (EBD). Through the BASE (Behavior, Academics, and Social Engagement) framework, he applies a contextual, behavior-analytic approach to promote positive, function-based interventions. His work primarily targets middle and high school settings, aiming to enhance outcomes for both students and their teachers across behavioral, academic, and social domains.
