Penn State University offers educator preparation programs that lead to teacher certification in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) approves the initial application of all certification programs, whether at the undergraduate or post-baccalaureate level. PDE also periodically reviews these programs to ensure that all certificate requirements are continually being met. The College began a major review cycle in 2020 that was successfully completed in 2022.  All educator certification programs were approved by PDE.
