Program Cost Breakdown

The program fee for the 2025-26 academic year is $19,000. Please note that this fee does not include living expenses. You will need to budget for additional costs such as:

• Housing: Penn State Global estimates J-1 scholar living costs (housing, utilities, food) at about $1,850 per month.
• Health Insurance: For reference, Penn State Global’s health-insurance plan for J-1 scholars cost $3,623 in 2024-25. Actual costs vary by coverage options and needs.
• Travel: Remember to factor in round-trip travel to and from the United States.

Application Deadline and Selection Process

Applications are due by April 30, 2025. To allow sufficient visa-processing time if selected, we strongly encourage early submission. Once your application is reviewed, the ExCEL team will contact you with next steps.
